We are Thankful

On this Thanksgiving weekend we are thankful for many things - prime among them our family and friends. We miss being near you right now, but we are so enjoying, and thankful for this trip to New Zealand and Korea.
In about half an hour we will step out onto Victoria Street in beautiful Auckland and begin our 3rd full day here.We plan to head off to C3 Church in a taxi, and after lunch we'll take a "hop-on/hop-off" bus trip around the city.
We arrived at 5:30 am on October 10th and spent the first day walking around the city, eating, napping, and generally acclimatizing ourselves to New Zealand.
Yesterday, we took a 40 minute ferry ride to Waiheke Island - an island of sun and vineyards and expansive beaches. The weather has been cool to warm, and very sunny.
Here are a few photos of our first days. Tonight we meet our tour group and tomorrow morning (Monday) set off on a tour of Auckland gardens (public and private).
Thanksgiving is not a formal holiday here this weekend - but we are in a thanksgiving mode!
